I’ve listened to Bryan Cohen’s podcast for years, and he knows what he’s talking about. This book is very slim, but it explains what a synopsis should be, and what it should NOT be, and then gives you a seven step formula to keep you on track.
There wasn’t much here I didn’t already know. A few years ago I went through all our old listings and redid the blurbs using largely this approach. You need to downplay lengthy plot descriptions, focus on the emotional conflict, and build to a cliffhanger.
Do you need this book? If you are a prolific author and posting your own titles, you need to be sure each and every synopsis is as good as it can be. If you have no idea what I’m talking about, grab this book. You can get it here.
