I think maybe I’m too old for this book, so take my review in stride. This is a very popular book that I’ve sold many of over the years, but only just read. It’s advice for living an artistic life, and includes solid but simple recommendations like making yourself a space for creating art, no matter how small your living area. About putting yourself out there, even if you think no one is finding you, because the practice of making your art public and opening yourself to feedback is important. That there is nothing really “new,” and that most of art is figuring new ways to combine old things. Stuff like that. Nothing that made me sit up and say “woah.” Nothing I felt I needed to earmark or write down to relay to you in this review.

That said, this book has a 4.7 Amazon rating with over 8,000 reviews. So maybe it’s just me.
So, if you’re a college student, and just trying to figure out what an artists life in the world might look like, this is a nice little book. If you are looking for ways to improve your craft process, I’m not sure this is it.
